Fix The Slow Folders In Windows 7

I’ve been experienced one of slow loading folder in Windows 7 lately which took me the ages to figure out why it was happening and how that folder could be fixed so that it would display its contents right away. The folder was my download folder where all downloads from the Internet where placed in. It grew to a size of roughly 250 Gigabytes of data with all file types present: videos, photos, documents, programs and music. I first assumed it was simply to big or that the many files and subfolders inside would be the cause of the loading animation in the location bar. But deleting files and folders did not fix the problem.

Google Chrome 5

The stable version of Google Chrome 4 was released to the public a short time ago and we mentioned in the review that Google was now targeting both Internet Explorer and Opera version-wise with the possibility that Google Chrome would outpace both browsers in the next 18 months. Today the first developer version of Google Chrome 5 was made available to the public which puts weight to that prediction.

The changelog for that first Google Chrome 5 release does not reveal many changes which can be attributed to the short time span between the final release of Google Chrome 4 and the first release of version 5 of the web browser.

S.P.I.T

VoIP spam or Spam over Internet Telephony (SPIT) is one of the foreseen future forms of spamming that Internet authorities are preparing for today. With the increasing use and dependence on the Internet for communications and data transfer, malicious software programmers have taken advantage by creating VoIP bots with the ability to harvest data and advertise massively at a very small cost. These advertising methods include email spams, SPIMS or spams over instant messaging applications, malicious bots that generate pop up ads, initiate redirects, etc.

Adobe Reader 9.3 Lite

Adobe has recently updated Adobe Reader to version 9.3. The update was necessary because of a security vulnerability that affected Adobe Reader 9.2 and previous versions of the pdf reader. It usually takes a few days before third party developers turn the Adobe Reader 9.3 version released by Adobe into a so called Adobe Reader lite version that sacrifices some of the functionality of the pdf reader for speed and performance.

The features that are removed are not usually used by the majority of the computer users that install Adobe Reader.

Save the Network Bandwidth

Saving network bandwidth is important for those users who are subscribed to a data plan that gives them a certain amount of Gigabytes per month that they can transfer freely. If they reach the limit they either have to pay for additional data transfers or live with reduced connection speeds which are both unpleasant side effects. Another possibility would be specialized services where the user has to pay for every data transfer right from the beginning.

The rise of mobile phones, netbooks and other mobile devices pushed the need for data compression tools that reduce the actual size of a data transfer.
